Requirement for a Passport Photo

  1. A recent passport size photo in JPEG or PNG format.
  2. File size of not more than 1MB.
  3. Photo taken by digital camera or scan is acceptable.
  4. Include a front view full face with eyes open and mouth closed.
  5. Photo should present full head from top of hair to shoulders
  6. Take the photo with plain white or off-white background.
  7. Avoid shadows on the face and background.
  8. Face in photo should have a natural expression.
  9. Do not wear hats or sunglasses while taking photo.
  10. The contrast and lighting in the photo should be normal.

Editing a Photo

 
1. You can either use your software in your PC or use an online photo editor at
www.pixenate.com.
 
2. Click on “Choose your image to edit” on the left side of the page.
 
 
3. Click “Browse” to find your photo directory.
 
 
4. Then click “Upload this image“. You will see your photo appear in the middle of the page.
 
 
 
5. If your photo is in horizontal position, click “Rotate to make your photo head up vertically.
 
 
6. Click “Crop to cut the part you want from your photo.
 
7. Set the width same with the height to make a square outline at the photo.
 
8. Use your mouse to move the square box to the part you want (from head to shoulder).
 
9. If the size is not correct, keep adjusting the number at the width and height input box.
 
10. When everything is set, click “Apply“.
 
11. Then, click on “Resize“.
 
12. There will be a square shape on your photo. Use your mouse to drag the square to cover your entire photo.
 
13. Set width = 144 and height = 144 and click “Apply“.
 
 
14. Click “Save to Disk” and click at “Save“. Save the photo to the directory that you prefer.
 
 
15. You will now have a correct size of passport photo.
 
 

Scanning a Photo

  1. Place your photograph face down on the scanner.
  2. Please preview to view the image of your photograph.
  3. Use your mouse to specify the scanned area of your photo. this will avoid you scanning the whole page and make the photo appear too small for e-Visa application.
  4. When done, make sure you can view your photo clearly and that you have scanned and saved only your photo and not the entire scanner background.
  5. Please use photo software to:
    1. Save a clear image.
    2. Save image size of 400 by 514 pixels.
    3. Save maximum file sizee of 60KB, ideal is approx. 5KB.

    When I scan my passport photo, it will be in the PDF format, is that acceptable?

    Hi Paul, PDF is not accepted. You need to save the picture to JPG or PNG
    format. Well, if you are not sure how to do it, just send it to
    photo@mfaic.gov.kh. Our photo editing team will convert the picture to the
    correct format for you.

    Once the photo problem solved, you can proceed to the e-Visa application by
    going to http://evisa.mfaic.gov.kh

    Hi – can you advise as to the size of a Cambodian visa? I’m running out of space on my passport and don’t have time to get a new one. Is it a full page visa or just a stamp?
