Since Cambodian Government launched e-Visa on April 2006, the immigration officers have taken their initiative to learn on how to process travelers with e-Visa. Although the process is slightly different from the traditional way, the immigration officers have given their full cooperation and allow e-Visa travelers to pass through immigration without any delay. Moreover, the immigration officers also help to direct e-Visa travelers to the correct lane.
Due to the large number of immigration officers, not all of them have the opportunity to participate in the training which organized by MOFA earlier. Therefore, MOFA will try to organize more training in the coming future to allow more immigration officers to get familiar with the e-Visa system.
I crossed from Thailand at the Poi-poi border. The evisa is accepted here and i was the only one in my group with this form of visa. For starters i didn’t have to spend valuable time confirming it all with my tour guide and secondly the immigration officers seemed genuinely happy to see this version!

I find them to be good, very efficient. I don’t think I have ever waited more that 2 minutes ever to clear immigration and customs. They could smile a bit more and maybe take a clue from the Singapore customs who I think are the best in Asia. Your first impression of them is they give you candy a very nice gesture.

I have used eVisa twice. The online system is great. However the experience at the PP Airport has been poor on both occassions. There are no (obvious) signs to direct holds of eVisas to the apparent correct lanes. And the Immigration Officer was anything but helpful and friendly. He was grumpy and sour and very slow. On both occassions the people with eVisas took longer to get through immigration that the passengers who lined up for visas on arrival. The system will not work if the processing at the airport cannot be made more effective.

At cham yeam bordercrossing travellers get ripped off on a daily base , as unsuspecting people get charged almost double the regular visa fee. Insist on paying 20 US only.

I don’t see why I have to pay an extra $5 to get an e-visa while I can get one on arrival. I mean visa fee is $20 already, which is expensive when you compared with other SEA countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines), which is generally free.
I thought e-visa should cost much less than conventional visa, because of much less manpower involved. But it seems the government thinks the other way.

Having travelled extensively over the years I have never known such a smooth immigration process. We applied for our e-visa (over the weekend) and had it within 36 hours. Our entry through Siem Reap airport was also painless.

Dear Officers,
I am a Malaysian, and wis to marry with a Cambodian girl in this year(2008).
Unfortunately, the Government of Cambodia banned the women to marry with foreigners since April 2008.

dear sirs,
i am a big “fan” of your country and i m always fully satisfied with the visa procedures coming to your county by airplane.
on the other side i have to inform you that coming from thailand via poi pet by bus, the circumstances are the worse. hustling and bustling of young man, trying to push you into “immigration offices” wher they offer a visa for 1000 bath (31 $US), immigration officers that denies to proceed a visa for less then 1200 bath (37 $US). in other words: a very very “business-card) for your country.
if you are interested in details: ask me!
sincerely
walter
