Angkor Wat
The Temple of Angkor Wat was dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu by King Suryavarman II, who reigned between AD 1131 and 1150. The Temple was constructed over a period of 30 years, and illustrates some of the most beautiful examples of Khmer and Hindu art. Covering an area of about 81 hectares, the complex consists of five towers, which are presently shown on the Cambodian national flag. These towers are believed to represent the five peaks of Mount Meru, the Home of Gods and Center of the Hindu Universe. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls, narrating stories from Hindu Mythology.

1. Le site et nous étions assez proche en Thailande
2. Byron, il est très bien conservé, aussi pour le côté mystère de ces têtes qui vous regardent partout. Nous avons eu la chance de le visiter sans trop de monde
3. Site très étendu, chargé d’histoire, qui semble vaincre les siècles et s’harmonise bien avec la forêt, dans un cadre de verdure magnifique, s’y perdre plusieurs jours

Warum? - bei Bayon die monumentalen Gesichter, die einen von allen Seiten aus ansehen, wie Magie!
Warum? - bei Ta Phrom die Symbiose aus mächtiger Natur und und von Menschen geschaffenen mächtigen Kunstwerken, die hinter Baumwurzeln versteckten filigranen Reliefs …
3. Ein ca. 1000 Jahre alter riesiger Kunstschatz, an dessen Wänden ganze Geschichten des Volkes und aus der Mythologie in lebendigen Bildern dargestellt sind
Ein Zeugnis gigantischer Baukunst und Ingenieurkunst (die Wasserbecken und Stauseen)
… man sollte es sich unbedingt ansehen, und das solange es noch so ursprünglich zu sehen ist und nicht noch 3 Millionen mehr Touristen die Tempel belagern
