4 years ago I came to Cambodia for the first time with a friend and we both fell in love with the country and decided to buy a house. Finally we bought land in Siem-Reap and built a house on it. June 2006 my wife an I went to PP to buy some furniture for the house and because we had some time left, our driver who is also working for a orphanage, asked us if we wanted to visit his orphanage about 40km outside PP.
First of all, I was most impressed on the speedy and uncomplicated delivery of my e-visa. You realize of course, that not everybody has a scanned passport photo or has it at hand when applying and does not necessarily want to give the credit card-number online!! These facts limit, unfortunately, the number of applications.
Upon my arrival at Phnom Penh airport, I passed immigration within 5 minutes, the immigration officer being fully aware and knowledgeable about e-visa procedures. With me, there were 3 more visitors who are using e-Visa as well. All other travelers of the plane stood in line at a special counter for their visa to be attributed.
We mentioned before in our previous post, Shin, our e-Visa friend recently launched his new book to share his musical journey. He is kind enough to send us a copy of his recent work to us. We would like to say thank you for the book and also featuring e-Visa in it.

Making e-Visa a most friendly and easy visa application process!
Thanks to Dave Jaros for his amazing and impressive effort to translate the official Cambodia e-Visa website to Czech version (Čeština). What amaze us is, it took him just a day to complete this mission.
I hope this may have helped you in your aim to make your country even more accessible to those who are not that strong in official english and this may save Czechs and other people lots of hassle when applying for visa on the remote consulates (abroad only) or on arrival.
This country has a population of 10,5 million, located in central Europe surrounded by Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia (1918-1992 we have had a common state Czechoslovakia, which has been well known worlwide). The country is a member of EU and NATO. Lots of people do think we have been a part of Yugoslavia or Sowiet Union which is false. The majority of the population (90%) are Czechs, which is a Slavic nation – so we are somehow related to the most nations in the Eastern Europe since the 5th century AD, but are mostly influenced by the western nations for some 1500 years back, compared to i.e. Poland or Russia.
One of our e-Visa friends, Mr. Guy Demaison who is also the president of the AME D’Asie Association, a charity association lately travelled to a small village in Cambodia for charity service. They went to a village called The Kampong Krabey. It is an isolated village that can be reached within 4 hours by normal land transport from Phnom Penh, 2 hours by boat from Mekong, plus 1 hour walk. They don’t even have electricity or water in this village, and their cultivated land is flooded every year. This village has never received any help before. There are total of 260 children in Kampong Krabey and 56 of them are orphans. These children eat only once a day and they seek their nutritions mainly from water and various insects in the village. Everyday, they have to travel 2 hours by walking with their naked feet in order to get to the school. The school principal is only paid a meager 30Euros every two months. AME D’Asie Association feels the importance of their mission in this village. They decided distribute daily necessities to them such as clothes, rice, noodle, soy sauce, fish sauce, caster sauce, a pair of tongs, books, pens, as well as coloring pencils.

e-Visa is great for the tourists who are visiting several countries in South East Asia. To get visa of all countries would take more than 4 weeks, as the passport has to be returned before we could apply for another visa.There is always a chance that one may not get the passport back by the departure time.
You have thought of a great service. You are far ahead of the thinking.There are other ways to counter the security issues. Great work. Every person and other countries get surprised that it is working for you.

Dr. Kim Dong Joo from Korea is one among the e-Visa friends who help us with the translation. Dr. Kim who turns 54 this year is a dentist in Korea. Besides, he’s also an active traveler who traveled to more than 70 countries in the past twenty years. He used to share his travel experience with other Korean travelers through some travel articles in local newspaper and travel magazines. The famous Korean traveler was also invited by Living TV and KBS Radio for an interview on his travel experience.
