I am so impressed by the fact that Cambodia has a website for visas. And that it is such an easy and quick process. Other countries should really consider this, since it is so inconvenient and a bit unnerving to send one’s passport with supporting document and fee payment via “snail mail” to another state and wait for its return. Couldn’t imagine a better visa processing option.

I commend the Cambodian government for showing such initiative. This visa process should serve as an exemplar to any and all other countries with outdated and/or complicated systems. Well done.

Obtaining a Cambodian e-visa was the fastest visa process I’ve ever encountered.
The only snag was establishing an account with Paypal. I wish that the Cambodian government would accept credit cards directly rather than thru Paypal only.
Other than that, I was truly impressed! More countries should adapt this system.

Once I was outside, I took a voucher to go to my hotel.
The taxi driver will then start by a nice and friendly approach.
How are you? where do you come from?
THEN:
Did you book your hotel? how did you book your hotel? I know better and cheaper hotel than the one you are staying…..he went on and on.
Then he asked me if I needed a car to go to the Temple. I reply that I will but he was an airport taxi and I will need a proper car. he said that he can do it. so I ask him to give me his number and I will call him.
He said: WHEN???
I did not know when I wanted to go so I reply that I did not know; he then got very aggressive and said that I have to give him an answer NOW. he did not want to wait!!!!!!!!
I shut up. get out the taxi and said that I did not want his help anymore. I got very scared!
A few days later I went to Phnom Penh then back to Siem Reap.
Once I was in the taxi in Siem Reap again…..same story happen but that time I said that I did not need a car for the temple.
The taxi driver then started shouting that I was KILLING him. because he waited days and days to have a guest to take him to temple and not the hotel.
Well, I told him that he was a taxi at the airport and he can not expect all guest to go to temple and make his money on them.
He scream all way through in the car…..making me feel bad when I have already spend thousand of dollars in a few days in your country
get your taxi sorted!!!!

Help!!!
Paypal doesn’t allow me to proceed payment with e-visa!! It suckszz. Is there any direct payment I can make to get my e-visa? I read from the FAQ from e-visa to know I can make direct payment instead of going through Paypal. Can anyone help me with this? I wanna get my e-visa!!

Doing the e-visa was the best decision I made. It was super fast, simple and easy! I would totally recommend to my friends, family and strangers to travel to Cambodia. It is a lovely country and I am thankful I was able to experience it before it becomes over-commercialized. It was one of the best trips I’ve taken.

Great!
Took less than 24 hours to get the-visa and it was much cheaper than going through the embassy.
Avoided long queue at immigration.
Completely satisfied.
I recommend the e-visa to anybody flying in to Cambodia.
However, it would be good to extend the e-visa possibilities to overland border crossings as well, just to give more flexibility to the traveller.
I enjoyed Cambodia very much and will reccommend it as a travel destination to all my friends.

I thought that the Cambodian e-visa system was fantastic. I applied for a visa one Sunday afternoon and had it approved within a couple of minutes! I then spent the next month trying to sort out 2 other visas for different countries, and wished that everyone else was an efficient as the Cambodians. Thank you very much!!

It\’s the easiest and fastest visa I\’ve ever got! I applied the visa this morning and I got it just this afternoon. If it were not the time I spent on the paypal account, it would be much easier. Though it\’s such a great experience, I did want to make one suggestion. That is to make it more obvious how I can apply visa for more than one person, for example, how to add the information of another person.

This is an excellent system that every country should be using. The customer service at immigration was warm and welcoming. Ignore the horror stories from books like Lonely Planet. In fact, ignore Lonely Planet completely if you can!

A million compliments… I was panicking because I’m leaving on Monday, and didn’t realize that it took 3 business days for the visa (as mentioned on the site.) But not only did I get an email reassuring me that all was well, the visa arrived this morning (Friday), six or seven hours after I applied. Bravo.

After reading all the possitive feedback on the e-visa, I was sure this was going to be a piecve of cake.
It turned out to be a nightmare…
I applied for the e-visa more than a month ago…
Everything was fine until I came to the payment…
Then they asked me to apply for a paypal account (although the FAQ said that it was possible to pay with a credit card if you didn’t have a paypal account) because there wasn’t any link on the page to pay with a credit card.
I could handle that… So I applied for the paypal account which cost me 1,50 dollar and took about 4days before the account was in service. Ok can handle that.
When I wanted to resubmit payment I suddenly found a link on the page to pay with a credit card without having a paypal account (where did that suddenly come from???) So I tried the link, filled in all the things needed and submitted… Seconds later I got the message that my credit card wasn’t accepted !? (the booking of a plane ticket the day before went perfectly using that creditcard!)
No problem I thought, because I have a paypal account, so I again resubmitted the payment using my paypal account, only to get the message that paying with a creditcard wasn’t possible at that time… I waited a couple of days and tried again only to get the same message…
I emailed the people responsible for the website (they replied within 2days, a positive thing) and got the feedback to try using another creditcard. Because I’m travelling for 6months in Asia and I have only one creditcard, I had to ask someone else’s creditcard number. I finally found someone willing to help me (3 weeks after I first applied for the visa)
Went back on the internet to try for the 1568th time, to resubmit my payment…
GUESS WHAT: the link which had been there before to pay with a creditcard without having a paypal account wasn’t there anymore (where did it go?)
Because my passport expired in 5 days I had to call home (belgium) and ask them to try it for me…
One day before leaving for Cambodia I finally got the bloody evisa…
I’m expecting it been turned down at the border though…
So this might be easy for some people, it really is a pain in the ass for others…
Good luck with applying for the visa. Be prepared to spent hours in front of the computer, kill a mouse or two and have your screen and keyboard replaced because you broke it while applying…

Absolutely superb service. Prompt, clear and extremely efficient. Thank you..Every country should learn from this and do the same without any change to the system. This creates a fantastic welcome to and very positive feeling towards Cambodia before you get there. One advice for improvement is to create a clear and proper credit card payment system directly to avoid Pay Pal if the applicant does not already have an account..Joining paypal on the spot can be an absolute nightmare and take weeks.. Luckily someone in the family had one so all went smooth and well, got the visa within hours! Well done and thanks once again.

Hi Steven, we are sorry to inform you that Paypal requires additional verification such as 4-digit number from statement during some transaction. The stage, differs by countries. Rest assure, we will like to look into this matter and assist you better. Thank you.

I also have problems with paying for e-visa.
There’s no link for paying directly by credit card now, so I’m trying to use my new Paypal account.
I’ve created the Paypal account successfully (It costed me 1+1.95=2.95 USD). And entered 4 digit verification number.
BUT it is still not possible to resubmit the payment. It says the “this operation cannot be funded by credit card”. I have sufficent funds on my card so I now don’t know how to slove this problem.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

The e-Visa-process and the immigration was very easy and quick. I recommend the e-Visa to everyone who wants to visit Cambodia.
The e-Visa-process saves time to the cambodian authorities. The price should be the same as the normal one.
