As a travel agent, I only wish Visa applications were this simple and easy, with excellent response time in approval. They quote 3 business days but I get approval back either same day or after 1 business day.

Your E-visa service made planning our trip to Cambodia much easier. Expecially the photo development part. We just arrived today and passed through immigration seamlessly. Other countries should learn from this fine example of expediting tourism and trade.

Excellent, easy, simple, straightforward –
Approval time was within the same business day even though it quoted 3 –
Instructions were clear and simple, no trouble at all through immigration, made our trip to Cambodia ever more pleasant! :)

We used e-visa and it worked great. It was nice to by pass the lines at the visa counter when we arrived at the airport. Would recommend it to all visitors.

While e-Visa allowed us to have visa in hand before we touched down in Siem Reap, it did NOTHING to streamline the immigration processing desk. The designated “e-Visa” line at immigration was by far the SLOWEST of all of the processing lines and despite our best planning efforts and patience, it still took longer than had we just gotten visas upon our arrival (we were… no kidding… the last people through immigration from our flight including those who purchased visas on arrival). Bottom line: e-Visa is a great idea with a lot of promise but had EXTREMELY poor implementation due to the lackluster and insanely slow performance of the Cambodian immigration personnel. Really disappointing(!) and a below average start to what ended up being a fantastic trip to Cambodia.

Unfortunately I agree with Richard’s comments below. E-visa is a great idea, however it will only be effective if the customs process is streamlined and modernized. This is the 4th country of a tour for us and customs here took far longer than any other.

To get the e-visa was so easy and effician, however, my group and I didn’t have good experience at the Poi Pet immigation. It was no line for e-visa … no different … well, the idea was good though, keep improving it will be much better!

This is an excellent service. The process is fast and easy. We received our visas is less than 24 hours. Cambodia’s eVisa is a model for other countries. *cough* Russia *cough*

This has to be the easiest way to apply for a visa (once I had worked out how to get a jpg down to the required size – my luddite approach to computing rather than a fault with the system)- it took less than 24 hours for my visa to arrive and you can skip the entry queue on arrival (fab!). Well done Cambodia, other countries should take note of your progress on this.
I definitely recommend this to other travellers.

E Visa service was fantastic, however it would have been much quicker to get my visa on arrival at Siem Reap. There was only one e-visa queue. All the passengers who got theirs on arrival were processed much quicker – I had to wait ages & was the very last person to be processed.

Excellent service. Works very smoothly and should be a model for many other countries which want to step into the 21st century.
The only recommendation I have is to streamline the processing on arrival and increase the number of booths for e-visas. (There was only one and it took on average 3-4 minutes to process one person. I also counted 9 different stamps on my passport)

evisa was brilliant. I had the visa within 24 hours of application. Unfortunately it took quite some time for me to get through immigration in Phnom Penh. Maybe some more education for the immigration officers

Brilliant! One of the easiest visas I have ever obtained – eliminated all need for a travel agent! I wish more countries would implement this- makes traveling such a pleasure! Thanks Cambodia!

It\’s easy to get the e-visa but it\’s really hard to get through immigration. The officer told me that I can pass through very quickly if I pay them additional 5 dollars. I didn\’t give them this five dollars and I had to wait for one hour before the officer can process my visa. It\’s really not a good experience…

We had a very good experience with e-visa. I would recommend, however, that you inform the travel agencies in Cambodia and neighbourhood countries about it. In Vietnam, before crossing the border, nobody at Sinh Cafe (one of the biggest travel companies in Vietnam) knew about e-visa. But the person in charge of us on the bus knew about e-visa and made an exceptional good job. I recommend that when crossing the border to Cambodia, people can do it by plane or bus. But when doing it by bus, they should by a direct ticket to another city in Cambodia (for instance, from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh; or from Bangkok to Siem Reap) and don’t cross the border by themselves. It is much easier then, because the people on the bus take care of the paperwork and crossing issues and they talk and deal with the immigration officers.

Scams at Poipet need to be fixed as they give a very very bad impression and a lasting negative memory of Cambodia ie. (a) the immigration processing (e-visa or otherwise) is VERY slow. My guess is deliberately so as fast “VIP processing” was offered for a fee of Baht 300; (b) touts offer free shuttle bus services to/from both Thai and Cambodian Immigration. In the latter case, the bus takes you to a departure point for taxis/buses. Various scams are used to extract money including vastly inflated taxi charges to Siem Riep; theft by FX manipulation; B/S advice about no ATMs operating in Siem Riep – inability to change baht anywhere in Cambodia because of political differences between the countries etcetc. The touts are obviously in league with both the Thai and Cambodian authorities as they seem to have unrestricted access through both sets of immigration controls.

The evisa service went fine – be at the Poipet border as early as possible, avoid the guidance of touts – and there is neither queuing nor cheating; the processing of the evisa took no more than five minutes each. A wonderful idea and a good start in Cambodia.

First I thought it was a scam when I got my evisa in 12 hrs over the internet. I was suspicious till I landed at Phnom Penh. But it worked perfectly. Absolutely no troubles. Visa on arrival queue is long. Its best to go for evisa.

e-visa works well. But in PoPei, seems no special e-visa window, both visa and e-visa waiting together, and my feelling is that the custom people don\’t like those with e-visa and intent to slow down the process speed. Anyway, next time I\’ll still use e-visa.

No problem with completing the e-visa application but your payment system doesn’t function. All I get is a blank PayPal page. Think I’ll give up and try the traditional visa application route via the Cambodian embassy. E-visa gets 10 out of 10 for an idea but 0 out of 10 for implementation.

As a result of my post 1641 yesterday I got an email from the e-visa guys who suggested another try and this time it worked although the Paypal system did reject my first two credit cards. However, third time lucky. Within 5 minutes of sending the payment I had printed e-visas for myself and my wife on my desk. Impressive!

Everything went really smoothly at the airport in Siem Reap. I am planning to go to Vietnam later on this week and come back to Cambodia next week. Will I have to get another visa to reenter the country?

This is an excellent service provided by the govt. Though the website states 3 days for processing, I got my links within 10 minutes of submitting the documents. Also saves you a lot of hassle on the Thai side (if you are travelling via Aran-Poipet route) where touts will try to pester you for registering their help in aplying for the visa.

Also I agree with post 1629. Touts give a very negative initial impression of the place. They will first behave exceptionally well, offering to carry your bags, etc, giving you free shuttle bus rides, and then asking you to change money at their recommended shop. I did so and found myself cheated. They offered me 3400 Real (this was 21st Dec, ’07) while after arriving at Siem Reap I found the going rate to be 4000 Real. Thankfully I changed only 100$, despite repeated urges to exchange larger amounts, but still it was a loss. Note that dollar is as good as the official currency in Cambodia. You can change a very small amount to buy things costing less than a dollar. They will quote one dollar, but you can suggest something like 3000 Real, and it gets accepted very well.

This application visa process was incredibly easy, fast, and efficient. Having the visa before entering the country saved a lot of time at the airport too! I would recommend this to any traveller, and appreciate Cambodia having this process.
