This is not an UPGRADE: The Old vs The New

Below is a comparison between the previous eVisa system that has been de-commissioned and the currently running eVisa system

Snapshot of the Cambodia e-Visa system before 28th June, 2008

In this snapshot, all translations is working perfectly.

In the current system screenshot at 28th June 2008, 1932hrs, the translations is totally messed up with gibberish text.

*****

Error messages in the previous system appears correctly and is in perfect alignment.

The error messages displayed in the new system is evidently an attempt to duplicate the design from the previous system.

The screenshot above shows the previous system’s Flash animation that showcases customers feedbacks.

In the current eVisa system, a new flash animation with a reduced size is used.

The Check and Change feature does not working anymore.

In the previous system, the Check and Change enables applicant to edit their eVisa certificates.

In the current system, it’s not working at all. Error messages shown are not relevant to the occuring errors. Also note the email address shown above in the screenshot above- cambodia.visa@gmail.com. We are not sure why the proper government-authorized email is not being used.

If you have any doubts on the legitimacy of this blog, please check out the following comments from previous eVisa applicants.

Please note that these comments are left on this blog prior to the previous eVisa system being removed on the 28th June 2008.

2008-06-01 19:57:39 I found the e-Visa extremely efficient and promising. I have just returned from Siem Reap, and can confirm that all counters (despite only one labelled “e-Visa”) process them. I too wasn’t up for waiting in line. I definitely recommend e-Visa for fiends, family and interested people, as well as Cambodia for an amazing experience. Keep up the top work.

2008-06-03 02:05:16 The application for e-Visa to Cambodia is a fast and efficient way. It only takes less than a day to obtain our visa. You don’t need travel agent to do it for you. It saves you a lot of time.

2008-06-03 18:10:54 An amazingly efficient process. We submitted our applications 10.30 pm in the evening and the approval came back the next morning. Many thanks - why cannot other countries do the same?

2008-06-04 03:21:50 The e-visa process is fabulous. It was very quick, easy, and efficient. My only complaint is that Cambodia charges both $25 for the visa and a $25 departure tax (for adults), which is a bit much. I really like the system, though.

2008-06-05 14:00:43 Excellent system with fast and efficient service! This is a system which other countries particularly developed ones need to adopt. Keep up the good work!

2008-06-05 22:57:43 Fast and efficient service! I had a wonderful time in Cambodia. I will visit again, and this time I will bring my family.

Is The New e-Visa System Secure and Reliable?

As of this writing, the new eVisa system is accessible via this link: http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/e-visa/vindex.aspx

One reader alerted the Cambodiaevisa.com team on this link:
http://evisa.mfaic.gov.kh/e-visa/review.aspx

At the time of this writing, this is the screenshot of the page (click for larger view):

The latest information we got is that the new evisa site’s security is compromised. It doesn’t seems like the site was hacked.

Screenshot taken at GMT+8 1625hrs 2008-07-07. The payment gateway used by the New System was blocked by PayPal due to suspicious activities.

Hence, you are advised to practice utmost security measures and procedures when using this new system.
